Garlando Umberto
Research Associate, Politecnico di Torino, Electronics Engineering
Umberto Garlando received both his bachelor's and master's degrees in electronic engineering, at Politecnico di Torino, in 2013 and 2015 respectively. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Electronic Engineering at the same university. His research interests are micro and nano electronics. In particular, he focused on the development of CAD and EDA tools for FCN (Field coupled nanotechnologies). He worked in the development of the ToPoliNano framework, especially for the simulation part.
Currently, he is working in a fast-growing field such as the smart-systems for agri-food technology. The main objective is to embed the IoT into agriculture to improve the efficiency, quality and ecological footprint of crops going towards a world more aware of its resources.
