Rebecca Sandrone achieved her MSc with the status of summa cum laude in Biomedical Engineering from Politecnico di Torino (Turin, Italy) in 2016.
In 2016, during the master’s program, she was a visiting scholar in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences Department (EECS) of the University of California, Berkeley (Berkeley, CA), where she worked on her Master’s thesis with title “Neural Dust: Design Strategies for Ultrasonic Powering”. At UCB, under the supervision of Prof. Michel Maharbiz and Prof. Danilo Demarchi, Rebecca focused on the study of the main guidelines and trade-offs in piezoelectric transducers for ultrasonic powering.
She was research assistant at the MiNES (Micro&Nano Electronic Systems) Laboratory, collaborating with Fondazione Cardiocentro Ticino (Lugano, Switzerland). The aim of the research was to investigate the differentiation of human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) promoted by electrical stimulation.
